The value of the excess volume, which is the parameter of the system disorder and appears due to chaotization of the solid body during melting, is employed to describe the states of the lubricant. Hysteresis behavior during lubricant melting is investigated in the framework of the offered theory, and pressure acting on the friction surfaces, their relative shear velocities and the lubricant temperature are taken into account. It is shown that the lubricant is being melted accordingly to the first order phase transition mechanism both for thermodynamic and shearing melting. It is revealed that the temperature of the lubricant considerably influences the hysteresis width on the excess volume versus shear velocity dependence. Kinetics of the lubricant melting is analyzed within the framework of the mechanistic analog of the tribological system. The regime of dry friction (when the lubricant is solidlike during friction), and liquid friction (the lubricant is liquidlike, the excess volume has a large value) and stick slip motion (when phase transitions between two phases of the lubricant take place) have been found. The comparison of the obtained results with the experimental ones, as well as the qualitative comparison has been carried out. It is shown that the obtained dependency of the steady friction force on the shear velocity qualitatively coincides with a new friction map for boundary regime, which was proposed by another authors basing on the generalization of a big number of experimental results.
