The evolution of microstructure of NC Zr during deformation and microstructural features of fracture surfaces of NC Ni-20%Fe were investigated. It was found that plastic deformation of NC Zr is realised by dislocation sliding and twinning, twinning activity increases significantly with temperature decreasing. The basic physical mechanism of plastic deformation of NC Ni-20%Fe is the emission of dislocations from grain boundaries.
