The object of investigations: fresh vegetable, including dill, which is sored up and realized for using fresh and industrial processing. The aim of the working out of the standard is quality improving of fresh vegetables, ensuring of production safety for mar's life and health and environmental and also protection of consumer's rights. In can be reached with the way of careful vegetable preparation for realization, purifying, sorting, calibrating and packing of vegetables into different kinds of package and their marking. Package influences mostly on the competitive ability of vegetables. Modern package fulfils the following functions: protects vegetables; carries information and quality of a producer; satisfies the principle of ecology; is the instrument of marketing; makes the transportation easier. In the basis of the standard for technical conditions of dill, fresh the results of research investigations of dill, fresh the results of research investigations of growing technologies, storing up and processing of fresh vegetables are put down. The indices of quality, which are established in the national standard, will promote receiving of high-qualitative vegetable production and will serve as a bases for objective pricing while intro-ducing new varieties. The standard, which has been worked out, is interconnected with the working normative documents as to the environmental protection, work safety during sorting, packing, trancporting, storing and also with the document for commodity equipment, etc. For fresh dill the novelty of investigations: in the standard which has been worked out, the dividing of production into two com inodity sorts - the first and the second - is forseen, the terms and methods of samples selecting are used, according to SSTU ISO 874-02, the demands on safely and environmental protection are given, and also they meet the modern requirements of consumers and the state system of standardization. The standard, after coming into force, will be applied in Ukrainian economies of different forms of property, which are engaged in production, storing up and realization of fresh vegetable production.
