It has been preserved and improved the gene pool of rare and disappearing breeds of hens (9 units), Ukrainian populations of ducks (5 units), geese (7 units). It has been determined the level of inter-breed heterogeneity of the gene pool herd of birds by typical breed quantitative and qualitative features. It has been worked out the morphotypological characteristic of Ukrainian populations of ducks by appearance and productive features. It has been found the presence of inter-breed differentiation by morphotypes of down coloration.
