Objective: to assess the source material and on its ground create a new competitive cucumber salad variety adapted to the conditions of Forest steppe and Woodlands of Ukraine with a complex of valuable economic features. As a result of breeding work, a new variety of cucumber Darunok oseni was created. The variety is middle-early, it takes 39-41 days from massive sprouts to. The seeds mature within 85-100 days. Duration of fruiting is 58 days. Productivity is 27.1 t / ha (exceeding the standard for 53.9%), the average weight of a marketable fruit is 80-90 g. Duration of maintenance of green colour of a small cucumber under usual conditions is 8-10 days.
