There had been analyzed methods and means for diagnosing power transformers, which allowed to form the algorithm for creation of a highly efficient diagnostic devices. There had been analyzed the features of the traction network. There had been done the analysis of electric power supply from the point of view of its losses. There had been considered the criteria for optimal functioning of the system of municipal electric transport. There had been suggested an approach for the receipt of the resource characteristics of power oil transformers, operating in the overloading mode, on the basis of which there had been developed the mathematical model for their construction. There had been developed the mathematical model for evaluation of the residual resource of power oil transformer, operating in the mode of overloading.
