Testing schedule with the object of searching means for reducing fuel rate during operation of power units К-210-130 of LMZ, st. №5 and К-200-130 ZMZ of Kurahovskaya TPP has been developed. In the results of tests it has been revealed that functioning of turbo-installations of Kurahovskaya TPP is characterized by a large number of shutdowns and changes in loads in a wide range, in such conditions excessive fuel consumption ranges from 1.6 to 3%. To improve the efficiency of operation of a turbo-installation under conditions of variable loads and changing the cooling water temperature it is necessary to equip the power unit with modern measuring system and to perform tests to determine optimum operating conditions.
