It was shown that the most reasonable, scientifically proven way to increase the corrosion resistance in PWR and BWR reactors is the addition of zinc in an amount of 5 ... 15 mkg/dm3 to the primary water. The literature analysis shows the possibility and usefulness of this way of optimization of primary water chemistry also in Ukrainian WWERs. The addition of aluminum is also the possible way of reduction the corrosion rate of primary circuit structural materials and accumulation of radioactive products on the inner surfaces of the primary circuit. Effect of zinc and aluminum on the corrosion resistance of primary circuit materials of WWER reactors were studied insufficiently, and therefore requires further research. Autoclave equipment for researches was established and improved. The method of addition of zinc and aluminum into the corrosive medium, the method of scanning electron microscopy studies of morphology of oxide layers on stainless steel samples were developed. Also some more improvements of equipment were made. The initial short-term researches of corrosion processes on primary circuit structural materials of WWER-1000 with the addition of Zn and Al in the form of salt compounds to the corrosive environment were carried out. Austenitic stainless steels 06Cr18Ni10Ti, 08Cr18Ni10Ti and 12Cr18Ni10Ti, zirconium alloy E110 and experimental alloy Zr1Nb based on calciumthermic zirconium were investigated. It was shown that the corrosion processes on stainless steels with and without additives are complex and are accompanied by an increase and loss of mass. Surface of oxide films was examined by means of scanning electron microscopy and the formation of two-layer oxide films on surfaces of all types of steels was observed. Oxide films become more compact if inhibitory impurities are added to corrosive medium. This shows the prospect of Al and Zn injection into the primary coolant to extend the lifetime of NPP equipment of Ukrainian WWER-1000 reactors. Works on phase 1 of "Resource" were implemented in full accordance with the approved schedule. Product Description popup.authors Іщенко Н.І. Бєлаш М.М. Брик В.В. Грицина В.М. Дикий І.В. Зуйок В.А.
