Information on detector failures at the ZapNPP units 1-6 during the period 1990-2010 years was gathered, distinctive features of the determining mean-time-between-failures for reliability calculations was determined, point and interval estimates for mean-time-between-failures were obtained. Exploitation conditions of the neutron flux detectors in the system of the automated neutron flux control (AKNP) at the NPP were analyzed, mathematical model was developed and neutron flux spectrum at the point of detector location was obtained. Mathematical model of the detector working layer was developed for further modeling of the processes that happen in the detector while its irradiation with high-powered neutron flux during the exploitation.
