DRG and DHSC cells in vitro grew and developed according with their phenotypic features during several weeks. The results of our studies showed presence of excitatory and inhibitory DRG neurons synapses on the cells of DHSC. Basic pharmacological and kinetic properties of evoked postsynaptic currents at primary afferent synapses in co-culture correspond to such that was identified for somatosensory neurotransmission in vivo.
