The aim of the work is the working-out of the Branch standard of the Ukraine on the technological schemes on prevention, localization, creation of explosion-proof conditions by fighting the underground fires with the gaseous nitrogen produced by means of the surface mobile nitrogen compressor station at the enterprises of the Ministry of Coal Industry of the Ukraine. At present the normative documents concerning the use of the mobile nitrogen stations for prevention and fighting the underground fires are not available. On the grounds of results of the research work on prevention and fighting the underground fires in coal mines by means of the gaseous nitrogen this standard has been worked out. The standard favours the effective use of the gaseous nitrogen produced by means of the surface nitrogen stations where the membrane technology is applied and the shortening of the time of fighting the fires and their consequences, the loss decrease of the mines because of the fires, hereupon. As a result of carrying-out the investigation the principal technological schemes of the use of the gaseous nitrogen to prevent and to fight the underground fires in mine workings have been determined. They were included in the normative document, i.e. the Standard of the Ministry of Coal Industry of the Ukraine “Underground fires in coal mines. Technological schemes of prevention and fighting with the gaseous nitrogen”. The scientific novelty consists in the working-out of the scientifically grounded technological schemes on the principal methods of the use of the gaseous nitrogen to prevent the spontaneous fires, to localize and to fight the underground fires, as well to create safe conditions by carrying-out the blasting operations. The realization of the research and development works will be put into effect by adoption of the Branch standard of the Ukraine at the enterprises of the Ministry of Coal Industry of the Ukraine and in the State Para-military Mine-rescue Service of the Ukraine, what will allow using the effective measures directed to prevention, localization and creation of the explosion-proof conditions by fighting the underground fires. Performance specification on the standard, projects of the original and final versions of the standard “Underground fires in coal mines. Technological schemes of prevention and fighting with the gaseous nitrogen” and explanatory notes have been worked out. An advantage of the results of the work fulfilled is as follows: The Branch standard of the Ukraine “Underground fires in coal mines. Technological schemes of prevention and fighting with the gaseous nitrogen” intended for enterprises and organizations which belong to the governing sphere of the Ministry of Coal Industry of the Ukraine and which the Ministry of Coal Industry of the Ukraine has the corporative control over has been worked out. The requirements of this standard apply to the project and specialized organizations that develop the projects of fire protection of the coal mines.
