Aim of investigations: establishment of the safe distances for carrying-out the mine-rescue operations by attenuation of the shock waves moving along the mine workings. Methods of investigation: statistical analysis of the literary sources on formation of the shock waves by gas and dust explosions, analytical investigation of the gas-dynamic processes by the gas and dust explosions. The investigation result is the mathematical model of the processes of spreading the shock waves along the mine workings to determine the safe distances from the explosion point to the place of carrying-out the mine-rescue operations. The investigation results are intended to develop the normative document Standard of organisation of the Ukraine (СОУ) "Parameters of the air shock waves and safe distances by the gas and dust explosions in the mine workings. Methods of calculation". The preference of the work consists in the scientifically grounded approach to the problem of origin of the air shock waves by the air-gas-dust-explosions and in the determination of the safe distances to carry out the mine-rescue operations.
