The purpose is to develop foundations of a technological process and to conduct an experimental and industrial check-up of the efficiency of electrodischrge desintegration of silicon with a necessary level of fractional components and finish treatment. The method used to solve the set tasks is to conduct theoretical and experimental research with use of a sieve and optical-microscopic granulometric analysis and statistical treatment of the experimental results. The method of electrodischarge desintegration of silicon is optimized by technological parameters and circuit design, ensuring thus fracturing of poly- and monocrystallic silicon from 30 to 4 mm and fining of metallurgical silicon to the fraction from 1 mm and less. Thus, specific power output and performance at use of a one-discharge circuit make 14 kWt·h/t, and 400 kg/h - for the fracturing process; 280 kWt·h/t and 20 kg/h - for a fining process, respectively. As a result of electrodischarge effect, high chemical purity of a desintegrated product is definitely achieved as compared to the raw material due to sedimentation of chemical admixtures concentrated on the grain borders.
