The object of standardization is the normative-technical documentation for the varieties and hybrid seed crops of vegetable, melon plants and fodder roots. The seed and seed crops documentation of vegetable, melon plants and fodder roots is done with the aim of establishing of their sort qualities (the level of sort purity), checking of growing conditions and fulfilling by the subjects of management of agrotechnical and necessary seed measures, obligatory for saving of typical for the variety economically-valuable signs and peculiarities. The observance of demands, while conducting measures of growing seeds well allow to increase the areas of commodity crops of vegetable, melon plants and fodder roots, increase their productivity and to preserve sort purity and approbation signs of varieties and hybrids, that will promote the satiation of market with high quality seeds. In the standard basis for documentation of vegetable, melon and fodder roots seeds the findings of many-years-old research investigations, which have been done in the Institute of Vegetables and Meloning UAAS and on its experimental stations, and also by other scientific establishments. The standard will be interconnected with working normative documents: for variety and sowing seeds quality of vegetable melon plants and fodder root-crops. The novelty of investigations: In the worked-out standard for documentation of vegetable, melon plans seeds and fodder crops the rules of construction, statement, performing of different kinds of documents for seed sowings and seeds of high quality are established; the accordance of documentation for sort quality of seed material to its purpose is provided, the demands of safety and environment protection are adduced; the demands as to the documentation are correlated with the demands of international standards and also they are brought into corresponds with the consumers’ demands and the demands of the state standardization system. The standard, after coming into force, will be put into practice in Ukrainian farming’s of different forms of property, which are engaged in production and realization of seed production.
