The goal of the work is a completion of work on the draft Reference book of qualification characteristics of positions of officials and workers of the Customs service of Ukraine for its further approval in the Ministry of social policy. Methods of research are a system analysis of legal acts of Ukraine and the State customs service of Ukraine which regulate its activities; norms and standards of the sphere of occupation classification activities; statistical grouping; analytical and comparison analyses. The novelty of the work consists in the fact that grounded changes and supplements had been introduced to the draft Reference book of qualification characteristics of positions of officials and workers of the Customs service of Ukraine, which are stipulated by the reforming of the sector as to further creation of legal basis for the working out of detailed position instructions, which will provide for unity when determining position duties of officials of the Customs service of Ukraine and qualification requirements to certain occupations (positions).
