The research methods are systems analysis, mathematical modeling, numerical methods, multidimensional statistical analysis, the group method of arguments account, the information and analytical method. The research goal is to determine the properties and applications of the mathematical models of space systems. The results obtained: a technique for evaluation of a parametric sensitivity to variations in the main design parameters of the efficiency factor of the superlight launch vehicle of the payload mass injected into orbit is developed; an inductive model for describing a real situation that allows to generalize simulation models of dynamic intelligent space-based systems combining continuous and discrete methods (interval, indistinct, fractal linguistic, neuronetwork ones) in the unified scheme is developed; based on a nonlinear discriminant analysis, the problem of a statistical classification of launch vehicles on the launch successfulness is solved: the main rule for prediction of the launch successfulness according to the performance is derived; a comprehensive mathematical model of operation of a space high-resolution Earth observation satellite system on the basis of the spacecraft high-resolution system is built; the current research in space debris mitigation is analyzed.
