Taking into consideration expolitation experience of pipeline systems in Ukrain and abroad, basic reasons for emergency situations at oil and gas pipelines, which are potentially the most dangerous, were determined. Some incident rates were shown, as well as specific examples of incidents at such pipelines were provided. Special implementation scheme of safe oil and gas trunkline exploitation was suggested, besides basic incident possibility rating factors were classified.
