Kholodny Institute of Botany NASU popup.description2 Salinity effect on growth characteristics, free and bounf phytohormones (ABA, IAA, cytokinins) content in seedlings of glycophyte Phaseolus vulgaris L. and galophyte Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L. grown in water culture was studied. It was shown positive correlation between ABA and cadaverine accumulation in P. vulgaris, wereas no connention between changes in IAA, different cytokinins and polyamines content were established. The gradual accumulation in zeatine riboside, isopentenyladenine, isopentenyladenosine and bound IAA content was shown in M. crystallinum under salinity. ABA level was very low and its fluctuations under salinity were essential only comparatevelly with a control. Similarities between ABA dynamics and free spermine and spermidine content was obvious. Exogenous treatment with ABA influence on endogenous phytohormones was investigated in plants with contrast salinity tolerance. Ptrotective ABA effect on growth characteristics and phytohormones and polyamines balance was shown.
