Objects of researches are atomically-clean, оoxidized and covered by submonolayers single-crystal molybdenum surfaces, hollow and composite nanooxides, epitaxial bismuth films, films of lubricants. Research approaches are temperature-programmed desorption, molecular beam technique, low energy electron diffraction, Auger-electron spectroscopy, contact potential measurements, resistance, magnetoresistance, Hall voltage measurements, molecular dynamics, Monte-Carlo, density functional techniques. In the report the following results of investigations are considered: 1. Theory of microscopic friction mechanisms. 2. New method of treatment of experimental data on distribution of dffusant concentration in a surface diffusion region for calculation of concentration dependence of surface diffusion. 3. Adsorption of barium on thin chrome oxide films grown on the molybdenum (110) face. 4. Computer simulations of electronic and atomic structure of monolayers. 5. Adsorption of СО on clean and oxygen-modified molybdenum surfaces. 6. Fabrication technique for hollow nanoparticles of metal oxides. 7. Thermal-desorption processes and structure of surface layer of nanocomposites. 8. Mechanisms of surface scattering of current carriers on Tb, H, D submonolayers adsorbed on the Mo(110) surface and carrier scattering of Bi surface electronic states. Physical findings, formulated on basis of the Project' results, are important and can be used for development of scientific fundamentals of such technical directions and technologies as catalytic reactions on metallic surfaces, application of new lubricants, control of surface structure and properties, production of nano- and spintronic devices.
