The investigation objects were submonolayer films of metals, monolayers of organic molecules, nanoparticles ensembles (island films covered with organic molecules), quantum dots, and sandwich-like nanostructures. The methods of scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy, measuring of electrophysical characteristics, electron and photon emission, low-energy electron diffraction have been used. The investigations which were carried out: 1) Liquid-state technologies of deposition of long chain aliphatic compounds, triphenylenes, benzocoronenes and fullerenes on atomic-smooth surfaces of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite and reconstructed surface of Au (111); 2) Electrophysical and emission properties of nanocomposites based on gold nanoislands and terbium organometallic complex; 3) Surface alloys created by annealing of Gd and Be adsorbed monolayers on Mo (112) substrate; 4) Nanosize systems based on films of long chain aliphatic compounds derivatives: cetyl-tri-methyl-ammonium bromide and stearates of sodium and potassium; 5) Formation and conduction of nanocomposites structures of tunnel-coupled gold nanoparticles modified by the organic molecules of ninedythiol, hexadecane thiol and aliphatic hydrocarbons; 6) Friction in tribocontact "gold-organic film-gold" with using of organic molecules of octanethiol and octane acid; 7) Properties of small solid state particles for applications in catalysis chemistry, emission electronics, and magnetics. The practical recommendations have been proposed for development of scientific basis of such technical areas and technologies as molecular electronics, creation of new electron and light emitters, control of surface structures and surface properties, fabrication of organic films for different applications. The recommendations are based on physical conclusions concerning atomic and molecular interactions in thin layers, two-dimensional alloys creation, epitaxy during organic films growth, electron emission, mass transfer, transport of electrons, size-effects in nanostructures on solid surfaces.
