Karazin popup.description2 A collection (191 ex.) leeches, oligochaetes, branchiobdelids, crayfish and other crustaceans and molluscs from the Southern Bug and its inflow, Seversky Donets and its inflow, Taganrog Gulf, Dead Donets (Don delta), water bodies in the Caucasus, Yamal, Khabarovsk and Primorye territories, Kamchatka, and Belarus, Western Balkans and the Bay of Biscay. A table with 191 indicating the type, place of collection, geographic coordinates, temperature and electrical conductivity of water was compiled. Four individuals of marine fish leeches Mysidobdella borealis were collected from mysid chistomysis parkeri from the beach of Anday, France. It is the only known record of boreal-Arctic species of fish leeches that comes from the southern Bay of Biscay to the Kara Sea. It is hypothesized the existence of an undescribed species Erpobdella sp., which covers the area of Korea, reaches Lake Baikal and the Angara basin. Presumably, this species occurs in the Yamal peninsula. Data for geographical distribution of the "living fossil" Acanthobdella peledina, which is found in Kamchatka, significantly expanded. There are morphological differences between different species of branchiobdelid in external and internal features and structure of the jaws by means of light microscopic techniques and electron microscope.. A key boreal-arctic and arctic species of leeches was compiled.
