Karazin popup.description2 The object of studies include thin films of metals, alloys and inorganic compounds. The aim of the project is to study phase transitions of melting-crystallization in condensed films of metals, alloys and inorganic compounds. The research methods. Films have been obtained by means of vacuum condensation on a substrate and investigated using scanning electron microscopy. The temperature range of creation and thermal stability of the liquid phase in the island of vacuum condensates of NaCl, Bi2O3 and AgCl on nickel substrates has been studied. The values of supercooling under crystallization of the island films of these substances on a nickel substrate have been determined. Phase transitions of melting-crystallization of the bismuth film, located between the films of copper, have been studied using a specially developed method of measuring the electrical resistance during heating and cooling of samples. Supercooling under the crystallization of bismuth in the Cu/Bi/Cu film system has been measured. A size effect of melting has been studied for Bi-Sn film systems, components of which form the phase diagram of eutectic type. Measurements of multilayer system and bilayer system of similar total thickness have demonstrated that eutectic melting temperature for a multilayer system is lower than for a bilayer system. The major results of the research have been obtained for the first time.
