It was found that C60 do not affect the number of viable thymocytes, L1210 leukemia and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells in suspension, on the resistance of erythrocytes to hemolysis and on the accumulation of TBA-active products in homogenates of liver and brain. It was shown that C60 can penetrate into the bilayer lipid membranes, locally increasing their conductivity due to nonspecific interactions between the hydrophobic parts of a C60 and the lipid bilayer.
