From this material with the addition of ZnSe and Cr there was grown ZnMgSe:Cr2+ crystal by the Bridgman method. The chemical composition of the matrix and the concentration of the active dopants were determined. The absorption and luminescence spectra of the grown crystal were measured. For the laser generator based on the active element ZnMgSe:Cr2+ there was obtained laser generation; the threshold pumping levels, the tuning band and the efficiency were determined.
