Aseptic culures of these species were induced. Comparative analysis of the effiency of genetic transformation using different strains of A.rhizogenes was carried out on four Nicotiana species as model objects, and two strains were selected for the further work. Genetic transformation experiments were conducted on 15 plant species representing four indicated families. "Hairy roots" cultures were induced for Nicotiana tabacum, N.noctiflora, N.debneyi and N.suaveolens (Solanaceae), Achillea lingulata and Helianthus tuberosus (Compositae), Otholobium glandulosum, Otholobium caffrum and Psoralea fleta (Leguminosae) and Plumbago zeylanica (Plumbaginaceae).
