Galkin Physics and Engineering Institute of National Academy of Science of the Ukraine popup.description2 At this stage, the role of the magnetic structure parity in the spin-wave electrodynamics of spatially homogeneous antiferromagnetic (AFM) in compensated and uncompensated phase in the presence of a constant external electric field, is analyzed. We found, that the conditions of penetration of electromagnetic waves of TM-or TE-type in antiferromagnetic medium (in particular, multiferroic) essentially determined by the concrete magneto-optical configuration (MOC). The corresponding relations for the Fresnel coefficients reflection and refraction, which simultaneously take into account the chiral and magneto-electric properties of the magnetic medium without any restrictions, are derived by using the covariant approach. In particular it is proved that the effects of refraction and the conditions for the existence of volume electromagnetic wave TM- or TE-type in the longitudinal and angular MOC, show nonreciprocity with respect to inversion of the sign of the tangential component of the wave vector, incident from outside on the surface of the AFM, which is considered. As for the polar MOC, as shown by calculations, in this case along the interface between magnetic and nonmagnetic media is possible propagation of special bulk polaritons TM or TE type. In this type of electromagnetic excitations of the phase velocity projection onto the normal to the interface is not zero, though the fact, that at any given time the power flow associated with the wave through the boundary is zero. For the first time it is proved, that the angular MOC can form left-handed medium effect (the simultaneous existence of effects of negative phase velocity and negative refraction), already in the compensated AFM with a center of antisymmetry. The necessary conditions of occurrence of this effect in noncompensated phase above mentioned AFM by hybridization of chiral and magneto-electrical properties, are formulated.
