Coronary artery ligation and isoproterenol-induced cardiac remodeling caused increased gene expression of brain natriuretic peptide NPPB and its receptor NPR-A, whereas myocardial infarction also resulted in decreased gene expression of atrial natriuretic peptide NPPA and clearance receptor of these peptides - NPR-C. This suggests that the answer of genetic apparatus to cardiac damage of different genesis significantly differs in relation to genes of natriuretic sustem. Experimental therapy effectively influences the expression of studied genes only after myocardial infarction, causing 9-fold increase of mRNA NPPB level and 3-fold increase of mRNA NPR-A level.
