While the impact of 24-epibrassinolide gave no significant effect on fatty acid composition of Arabidopsis seed grown in controlled conditions, application of brassinosteroid to rapeseed plants improved oil productivity and quality of oil under stress cultivation conditions. The results indicate the possibility of brassinosteriod utilization to improve the stability of oil-bearing plants and increase their productivity needed for biofuel production.
