A new HF receiving complex has been deployed in Tromso (Norway), and the receiving system at Svalbard has been upgraded. A theory of HF signal scattering by field-aligned plasma irregularities has been developed with allowance for strong refraction effects in the ionosphere. Variations of the total electron content over the Antarctic Peninsula were investigated using transionospheric propagation of signals from satellite transmitters of the GPS global navigation network. Data of in situ satellite diagnostics were used to investigate space-and-time distribution of atmospheric gravity waves at high (polar) latitudes.Objective of the work – Investigation of Earth’s magnetosphere and ionosphere response at high and middle latitudes to geospace perturbations with the use of research facilities located in Ukraine and at the EISCAT Observatory.
