Theoretical and practical results - the influence of the efficiency of the extraction of iron using clinoptilolite filters on water demanganation process; the influence of the iron hydroxide acting as the alkalising reagent on the demanganation process; the influence of the preliminary aeration by air oxygen and the supply of alkalising reagents on the process of the manganese extraction from water by modified clinoptilolite. The simplified model of preliminary deironing of water by natural clinoptilolite tuff. The results are protected by Ukrainian patent No.95840. It is determined that the preliminary aeration of water and its alkalising increase by a factor of several times the duration of filtration cycles and the operational reliability of modified clinoptilolite. The results of preliminary studies were used to develop the pilot plant for the preparation and application of modified clinoptilolite outright on the implementation site. The simplified version of the installation is fabricated and implemented on the water take-up plant "Mechnikow" in the city of Mukachewe. Novelty - the method does not require thermal processing, and relies on the ion exchange and sorption properties of clinoptilolite. Efficiency of implementation - method is capable for efficient extraction of manganese and iron ions from the artesian well water. Field of use - water conditioning and environment protection.
