Was given a specific task - finding the most informative spekralnyh indicators to assess the productive potential of winter wheat. The main idea dochlidzhennya was the relationship between productivity and overall plant photosynthetic capacity - total number of chlorophyll in plants over a period of vegetation. This task was implemented on several levels - studied the possibility of using digital pictures of individual leaves and crops for assessing performance; studied the relationship between reflectance spectra and chlorophyll content in crops; investigated the relationship between dynamic changes in reflectance spectra of wheat during the growing season and the level of harvest. It was established that the most informative type of digital images are "scans" of individual leaves. While using spectral reflectance coefficients the most promising type of vegetation index is normalized difference. Using the first derivatives of reflectance spectra provides more accurate assessment of yield in comparison with the original spectral curves. Reflectance spectra of crops (including their first derivatives) are sensitive to the "strategy", causing increasing of crop productivity - increasing the supply of grain in the one plant or increasing seeding density. Depending on the strategy optimal wavelengths to calculate vegetation indices vary. However, it is possible to use such wavelengths, which will provide assessment of performance in both strategies. In assessing the yield of winter wheat by vegetation index the most effective time is to determine the dynamics of change indices in phases blooms and waxy ripeness.
