It was established, that in cadmium-containing single crystals radio luminescence is observed only for material CsCdCl3:Ce, nevertheless its light output is very low. Single crystals Cs2LiGdCl6:Ce with diameter of 15 mm ad height up to 80 mm were grown. This material is a scintillator whose light output makes up about 10% relative to NaI:Tl.
