The characteristics of the ignition of low grade coal after it thermochemical preparation were investigated. The anthracite volatiles release rate, their composition and its effect on the fuel air mixture ignition were analyzed. A numerical method for 2d and 3d dispersed flows aerodynamics calculations, taking into account the turbulence, chemical reactions and heat and mass transfer in the boiler burners with thermochemical preparation were developed. The engineering calculation method for the design of burners with thermochemical preparation was established. Comparing the experimental and calculated results based on the geometrical, thermophysical parameters of the burner with thermochemical preparation, its flow characteristics and physico-chemical characteristics of coal. The dynamics of NOx and SO2 formation was investigated, these emissions reduce methods have been developed for burners with thermochemical preparation. The requirements specification was developed, contractor design was created, thermochemical preparation burner was made and embedded at Tripylska power plant TPP 210A boiler for low reacting high ash anthracite combustion. The features of biomass co-firing with high-ash coal were investigated. The effect of experimental characteristics of the process on to efficiency and ecological compatibility of co-firing biomass and pulverized coal was studied. The kinetic characteristics of the drying process, the devolatilization and biomass coke residue burning and carbon residue of coal blends with different degrees of metamorphism.
