Purpose consist in formulation of proposals for the contents of the basic specification of a state reference material (SRM) of soil, validating of technical requirements for material for a SRM. Research methods are methods of theoretical analysis, systematic approach and a comparative analysis to justify the choice of techniques of preparation and certification of reference material from the list of previously identified potentially suitable techniques. Results - previously set forth the scope of use of state reference material of soil, indicated the basis for development, and the appointment of a reference material. Technical requirements for material for the manufacture of reference material of soil are validated. From the list of techniques that are considered as potentially suitable for the preparation of material and metrological certification of reference material of typical silty clay chernozem, selected those that are mandatory for use during execution of work.
