The purpose - to determine the level of chromosomal aberrations in peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with thyroid cancer who did not receive chemotherapy, radiotherapy, radioiodine therapy and healthy individuals. Methods of study are cytological, cytogenetic and mathematical. It was studied the frequency and spectrum of chromosomal aberrations in peripheral blood lymphocytes of the patients with thyroid cancer and of conditionally healthy individuals. The features of the distribution of chromosomal aberrations in cells were analyzed. The proliferative activity of the lymphocytes was studied. It was found that mean group frequency of the lymphocytes with chromosomal aberrations in the patients with thyroid cancer isn't much different from some date of the control group and does not exceed the upper limit of the population-average spontaneous level. In the spectrum of chromosomal aberrations the chromatic type aberrations dominated and has not been found the probable differences between this two groups for this indictor. It was discovered that the proliferative activity of phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with thyroid cancer is probably lower than in control, which may indicate the violation of the functional activity of lymphocytes in patients with thyroid cancer. It was shown the distribution of chromosomal aberrations in cells in the lymphocyte culture of patients with thyroid cancer is adequately described by the compound of the two discrete distributions, it is Poisson and geometric. Analysis of calculated parameters two-population model has revealed the presence in the culture of lymphocytes of patients with thyroid cancer abnormally high (16,04 %), compared with control (0,7-1%), part of subpopulation of cells, in which the formation of aberrations is not random and independent , conditioned by the fact that one of aberration leads to the appearance of others.
