The structure degradation characteristics of aircraft aluminum alloys and heat-resistant steels of steam pipelines of thermoelectric power station on the model and cut out from long-term exploited structural elements samples are investigated. Mechanical, physical and electrochemical parameters for the degradation monitoring are established. A new technology for improving the physical and mechanical properties of 10Sc1CeSZ-50NiO and 8YSZ-50NiO ceramic by redox-cycling (successive change of reducing and oxidizing medium) for increasing the serviceability of ceramic fuel cell anodes is proposed. New eddy current probes are produced. The methods of nondestructive testing of material structures and defectiveness of structural elements are developed.
