The influence of temperature, annealing time and hydrogen pressure (0.5-4.0 MPa) on the HDDR processes in Sm2Co17 has been studied; the correlation relationships between the changes in microstructure and degree of hydrogen-induced decomposition of the magnetic Sm2Co17 phase were established for the first time. Physical mechanism of the magnetostriction constant change in the hydrogenated ferrimagnetic RE alloys has been established; growth of magnetostriction constant is caused by increase of Curie temperature by 80-100°C as a result of the RE hydride formation.
