The purpose of the work: A development of the standardized catalog form to describe the potential sources of a mine methane in Ukraine. Completing this form based on information in the public domain, and entering it in the geographic information system (GІS). Research Methods: 1. Analysis and synthesis of published scientific results and technical documentation on the realized foreign projects dealing with the capture and utilization of a mine methane. 2. GIS technology, based on the use of the spatially localized data on potential sources of a mine methane in Ukraine. The main results: 1. Based on an analysis of published data a set of specific characteristics of each mine has been defined. This set is a necessary and sufficient for the description of potential sources of a mine methane in Ukraine. 2. A unified catalog form was developed. Each column of this form was scientifically justified under the terms of data capacity, logical connections and ease of use. 3. The block administration (software) into a unified catalog form was developed. The data for 29 coal mines of Donetsk coal basin were put in it. 4. Demonstration unit for Google Earth was implemented for visualization of the information on 29 mines in Ukraine.
