Purpose of the work is to obtain initial parameters of controlling and measuring apparatus (CMA), installed in the levees, for the further regular control of their change and estimation of the technical state of protective structures of the tailings storage facility. Method of the research is instrumental measuring of coordinates and marks of the ground geodesic signs, groundwater levels in the monitoring holes. From the results of the engineering-geological survey, it is revealed that occurrence of unfavorable physical-and-geological processes and phenomena are absent on the surface of the levees. 14 monitoring holes were installed in the bodies of the levees and groundwater levels were measured in them. From the results of the geodesic measuring (polygonometry and leveling), from the points of the state geodesic network, coordinates and absolute marks of 29 ground geodesic signs (surface marks) installed in the bodies of the levees were determined. The findings can be used as initial data for regular control of the condition of the levees of the tailings storage facility and taken into account when their stability is determined.
