The subject is the influence of the determinant components of the business environment on the economic situation of businesses in the pilot regions. The purpose of the study is to assess the current situation regarding the status of small and medium-sized enterprises under the new consolidated project indicators. Methods: theoretical analysis and synthesis, the survey, statistical treatment. The research data suggest that the current state of small and medium-sized businesses by their own self-esteem is worse than during the economic crisis of 2008-2009. Overall assessment of changes of business conditions in Ukraine in the business environment is controversial. The most problematic elements of the business environment remain an administrative regulation, the availability of information, as well as problems with implementation of legislation. The specific conditions of the business environment formed in the pilot areas, determine the content of entrepreneurs' requests for forms of promotion their business by the organizations created to support small and medium businesses.
