Danilevsky Institute of Endocrine Pathology Problems of Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2 On the model of social and emotional stress in the pregnant rats it was stated that maternal gestational stress provokes changes of the systemic leptin level in the offspring at the different stages of postnatal life and influences on the course of such leptin-associated processes as the formation of fatty tissue, modeling and remodeling of bone tissue, disorders of reproductive function and psychoemotional sphere in the offspring of both sex. Significant decrease of the leptin concentration in the newborns is considered to be a prognostic of development of some antenatally programmed non-hereditary diseases in the adults. This fact can be used for separation of risk-groups with early development of such diseases as obesity, osteoporosis, osteoartrosis, early degradation of the reproductive function and higher inclination to depression among the newborns.
