Research objectives: the formation of historical and typological database of print media (paper and electronic media), historical and bibliographic processing of mediaelements, content-analysis and typological classification of typeforming characteristics, typological differentiation of media. Methods: historical, historical and typological, structural-typological, descriptive bibliographic, diachronic, synchronic, systematic, problem-thematic, genre and stylistic. Language and territorial principle was put to the base of research. This allowed to differentiate the periodicals of the national liberation struggle period in the context of contemporary social and political circumstances. The results: Due to this research historical and bibliographic database of Ukrainian periodicals published in Ukraine and abroad during the 1917-1922 was substantially completed. The Catalogues of Lviv National Library of Ukraine named after V. Stefanik, Scientific Library of Lviv National University, National Library of Ukraine. V. Vernadsky, the State Scientific Library archive (DNAB), Kyiv, stocks of the Central State Archives of Public Organizations of Ukraine, the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv, the State Archives of Lviv region., Odessa National Library, Russian State Library (in Moscow) were studied. 234 names Ukrainian periodicals were prepared to be entered to the database. 133 names of magazines were introduced during this year.
