Based upon quasi-optical waveguide simulation method the polarization characteristics of forward and backward scattering from objects in THz frequency region were investigated. Energy, spectral, temporal and polarized THz range laser radiation characteristics were examined. A number of methods that improve its generation effectiveness and expand functional capabilities were proposed and experimentally confirmed. The experimental prototypes of THz lasers that are suitable for biomedical research were designed and developed. Characteristics of laser generation based on solid-state polyurethane matrices doped with dyes of different classes were studied. A novel technique for signal accumulation in the observation of an object through the turbulent atmosphere were proposed and explored. It allows one to reach the diffraction limit of the telescope resolution. A photoklynometric method of a planet were developed to reconstruct the surface relief of a planet from a set of its images. An algorithm of photoklynometric relief reconstruction were developed and implemented involving altimetric data. The efficacy of the method were tested during the experiments with the Mars and Venus relief reconstruction in terms of the data provided by the “Magellan”, “Phenix” and “Mars-Express” spacecrafts.
