Objective: study of biodiversity of the Karadag Nature Reserve of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and selection of criteria of estimation of its state using biomarkers and biotechnologies. Research methods: field stationary and semi-stationary with the use of measuring systems; laboratory hydrochemical and hydrobiological; analog prototyping of the early warning system of the unfavorable state of water environment, mathematical statistics and design cartographic. Main results: The dynamics of some hydrochemical, hydrobiological and hydrological indices of aquatorium of reserve is studied, it is allowed to describe its ecological state and state of natural populations of shellfishes of this site, define their adaptive capacities for the change of quality of environment. By means of electronic registration the features of motion of mussel valves are investigated under various conditions. On the base of results obtained the prototype of analog system for early warning in which synchronous closing of valves of group of mussels during protracted time used as a biomarker of worsening of the state of environment is created and tested. Complex of automatic bio-monitoring of water environment of high discriminability allowing real-time operatively to find out contaminations of salty and fresh water under natural conditions of water bodies is designed, made and tested. Numeral descriptions of specific structure of complexes of ticks are obtained. It is allowed to estimate functional state, monitoring and design of processes in the soil tier of relict ecosystems of the Karadag. Conducted researches (monitoring of pollutants of atmospheric air, cyto-genetic monitoring, radioecological monitoring) proves that ecological situation of the territory of Karadag Nature Reserve of the NAS of Ukraine is the "standard" and can be recommended as control in the system of the state environmental monitoring. 77 scientific papers are published on the results of this work.
