The results obtained. Incidence and prevalence of glaucoma in Ukraine in 2010 are respectively 599.2 and 61.8 per 100 000 adult population. The growth rate of prevalence of glaucoma in Ukraine is 36.5 per 100 000 adult population. The growth rate of the incidence rate - 2.2. Heightened risk of glaucoma compared with Ukraine as a whole was observed in seven administrative units - Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy and Chernihiv regions, and cities of Kiev and Sevastopol. Decreased risk in Volyn, Zhytomyr, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Rivne and Ternopil regions. Increased risk of glaucoma was observed in Vinnytsia, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. In eight areas there was a reduction of risk - Volyn, Donetsk, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa. It is shown that the incidence of glaucoma depends on the genetic and demographic characteristics of the population (sex-age composition, migration rates, the degree of autbrednosti), influence the size of the coefficients of inheritance. High risk of glaucoma: people older than 70 years, with a family inheritance of glaucoma; working in hazardous industrial environments for over 20 years, with an existing chronic pathology of internal organs - coronary heart disease, hypertension, the presence of surgical operations on the eye. The introduction of computerized registry of patients with glaucoma on evidence-based scheme allows to systematize the work of an ophthalmologist, helps optimize the long-term observations in conditions of limited resource capabilities, ensures continuity in the care of these patients and comparability of data. Creating a network of regional registries presents the basis of preventive strategies for the conservation and promotion of health in ophthalmology.
