This research grounds the theoretical and methodological basis for the formation and implementation of a commercial bank's innovation strategy as an integral part of its overall corporate strategy. The essence of the category "banking innovations" was determined, their classification was improved. Institutional factors influence on commercial banks' innovation activity and its causes were analysed. The theoretical essence of banking innovation strategies was found out, and their modern classification was offered. The author's interpretation of bank's innovation potential content was given, methods of its assessment were devised. The methodology of bank's innovation strategy building was defined, methods for selection of strategic alternatives were proposed. Content and factors of banking innovation strategies risks were determined. The strategic directions of domestic banks innovation activity were analyzed and its state was assessed. Creation of process-project bank's structure was proposed. The conceptual model of bank's innovation culture was defined. Principles of banking innovation process were established. Theoretical approaches to the banking innovation strategies financial mechanism and evaluation system forming were developed.
