To study cell reaction on combined influence of chemical and physical agents: heavy metals salts, ionizing radiation and electromagnetic millimetric waves, to find out the character and laws of modifying influence of heavy metals ions on radiogenic effects in cells. Objects: cell culture L929, grows kinetics, mitotic activity, apoptosis, energy metabolism enzymes. Methods: cell culture, cytological, cytochemical, flow cytometry, statistics. The investigation of heavy metals ions influence in the range from 0,01 to 10 mkmol/l on growth kinetics, proliferative and mitotic activity of irradiated cells gave us an opportunity to show polymodal character of radiogenic cell reactions. Thus lead ions influence as radiomimetic substances, enhancing radiolesion and leading to dose-dependent dystrophic-destructive changes and apoptosis increase in cell culture. Nickel ions through their genotoxic activity substantially decrease mitotic activity and increase apoptosis in cell culture, irradiated by ionizing radiation (IR) in 0,5 and 5Gr doses, but in the range of sublethal doses of IR show protective influence on viability and proliferative activity of cells in culture. Nutrient microelements chromium and copper in the concentration range 0,01 - 10 mkmol/l do not show cytotoxic influence in cell cultures irradiated in doses 0,5 and 5 Gr, but destructive effect of sublethal dose 10Gr does not depend on concentration of these elements: polykaryocytes quantity decreases in 25 (Cu+2) - 40 (Cr+3) times compared with intact control. Identification of apoptotic cells quantity upon combined action of IR and copper or chromium ions showed complicated, dose and concentration independent character of their content in cultures, which can witness about compensative processes in cells upon investigated conditions. Additional combined influence of IR and heavy metals with electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in millimetric waves gave us an opportunity to find out the specificity of cell reactions. Upon incubation of irradiated cells with "toxic agent № 1" - lead protective influence of EMR appears only for IR doses of 0,5 and 5 Gr and for low concentration of chemical elements 0,01-1 mkmol/l. Upon incubation of irradiated cells with nickel, copper and chromium ions modifying influence of EMR in millimetric waves was not shown. Cytochemical study showed that increase of energy metabolism in irradiated by IR cells is general for all heavy metals ions. It happens at the expense of glycolysis activation which points on compensative character of such changes.
