Instrumental diagnostics criteria elaboration for amber, fossil resins and their imitations with the help of IR-Fourier spectroscopy method is the part of the work. Scientific and literature search was carried out during the reporting period with the use of specialized editions data and possibilities of instrumental diagnostics for amber, fossil resins and their imitations by infrared spectroscopy were analyzed. Requirements to the collection of research samples were stated and the collection of amber, fossil resins and their imitations was set up for the next instrumental study. The results of the work will be applied for scientific gemological expert examination of higher complexity.
