Purpose of study - substantiation and development of criteria and procedure of ceasing the regulatory control at the radioactive contaminated territories taking into account the worldwide experience and international recommendations, and propose the ways for the practical realization of the ceasing. Research methods - statistical analysis, creation of the databases, application of the GIS-technologies based on the input data obtained in the radioecological surveys of the radioactive contaminated territories of Ukraine, dosimetric surveys of staff and population, determination of the radionuclides contents in human and in the environmental objects. The criteria for ceasing the regulatory control at the contaminated territories have been developed. The overview and critical analysis of the contamination levels have been performed, and the dose and derivative criteria have been suggested. Radiological criteria for the full ceasing the regulatory control have been elaborated. The territories and population groups have been determined which are subject to the ceasing. The draft procedures have been proposed for realization and observance control. Thesaurus of the terms to be applied in the field of radiation protection of human in context of the ceasing of the regulatory control at the territory.
