The purpose of work was (1) to find out the level of significance of different selenium forms for vegetable organisms, (2) to analyze the presence of different ecological groups of plants in relation to selenium, and (3) to show influence of selenium on the physiology functions of plants. During the research different methods of measuring the inorganic selenium forms in soils and vegetable material were mastered, for instance the method of inversion voltammetry. Research methods include critical literature review, laboratory analysis of selenium influence on physiological functions of plants, and analytical data analysis.
